Micromax will now manufacture electric vehicles after mobile
Indian Consumer Electronics Company Micromax is in the process of landing in a new segment. The company's headquarter is in Gurgaon. At one time the company was dominated by the Indian mobile market. However, after the arrival of Chinese companies such as xaomi, Lenovo, Oppo and Vivo, Micromax's business has suffered a setback. The company is now going to do something new to bring its business back on track. Micromax Informatics is preparing to land in electric vehicles and battery manufacturing. The company will introduce electric two-wheeler and three-wheeler and enter into new segments. The company is currently doing test in this segment.
Talking with Tasting Partners
Rajesh Agarwal, co-founder of Micromax, told the Economic Times, "We are considering landing in the electric vehicles category. However, this is just the beginning day. We are currently in talks with technology partners. The company is in the advanced stage of testing of its e-vehicles and it has got permission in some lithium battery category. At present, limited manufacturers are making e-rickshaws and electric two-wheelers. In such a situation, Micromax has a great potential in this segment and the company wants to make its entry into this segment.
Manufacturing plant location will be finalized soon
Micromax executive said, The government is constantly increasing focus on e-mobility. We believe that electric three-wheeler and two-wheeler will grow faster. Micromax is in the advanced stage of finalizing a location for the manufacturing unit. However electric vehicles in India are not yet popular, but government policies indicate that there will be major changes in the coming years.
